Painted plein air in a farm pasture near Keithville, Louisiana, this piece captures one of those old trees that seems to have quietly watched over the land for generations. Its broad canopy and weathered branches stand against a muted sky, while the warm grasses and fields beneath it bring a touch of Southern sunlight to the scene.
